Step 7: Run Windows System File Checker ('sfc /scannow') System File Checker is a handy tool included with Windows that allows you scan for and restore corruptions in Windows system files (including those related to rtmpdump.exe). For Windows 7: Go to the Control Panel, choose ‘System And Security’, and then click ‘System’, and then click the ‘Advanced System Settings’ link. In the opened window, click the ‘Advanced’ tab and then inside the ‘Startup And Recovery’ frame, click the ‘Settings’ button.
- Look into the ReadMe of the version bundled with Streamlink:

Rtmpdump Windows
Let's hope it's just a mistake, so nothing to get worried about.
- Look into https://git.ffmpeg.org/rtmpdump again.
RTMPDump has not being maintained for more than a year and a half. Though the program may be almost perfect. Why should anyone worry about it?
Also, the project was put on halt after 7 vulnerabilities had been reported by LMX (limingxing) of Qihoo 360 (a Chinese internet security company) Codesafe Team and then fixed by Howard Chu (a co-author of RTMPDump).
Just a pure coincidence, let's forget about the project's troubled past and go further.
- There was another parallel project, the so called KSV patches, which is widely acknowledged for being able to do the job where the official release fails. It is also widely advertised here.
The last version was released on the 15th of December, i.e. 8 days before the above mentioned vulnerabilities were patched. Then the author(s) immediately lost any interest in the project, though he/she/they was/were pretty active thoughout the year.
The K-S-V's version is not vulnerable, is it? I don't think so.
Is there an updated K-S-V's version with the above mentioned vulnerabilities being patched? I have failed to find any.
And the most important question. Why does the K-S-V's version manage to do the job where the official 'unvulnerable' version fails? Is it because of its advantages? Or because of [insert your favourite conspiracy theory] ?

And finally, has anyone tried to apply KSV patches to the latest official version to check, if it's still working flawlessly?
